Theft from Motor vehicle, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne

Officers are appealing for witnesses as they investigate a distraction theft in Newcastle.

It was reported that at around 1.30pm on August 27, a woman had been shopping at Gosforth Shopping Centre when she had a large amount of cash stolen from her.

She returned to her vehicle parked on the top floor of the complex, when one of the offenders approached the vehicle. He engaged with the victim, whilst the second offender opened her car door and took the money from the bag on the back seat.

When the victim got back into her car, she realised the passenger door was partially shut. It was when she arrived home that she noticed the money had been taken from the back seat of the car.

The money taken, totalled £15,000.

Enquiries are ongoing and we have released images of three men who officers would like to speak to.

They were in the area at the time and officers believe they may have information which could assist with their enquiries.
