Amazon supportied a Crimestoppers campaign warning the public about the dangers of buying fake goods and how to spot them. Amazon aims to be Earth’s most customer centric company and this campaign was part of our wider efforts to protect and support British businesses, and protect consumers.
By making consumers better aware of the risks counterfeit goods pose, Amazon are supporting their activity in the UK and worldwide to ensure counterfeiters are held accountable, and stopping them from abusing Amazon’s stores or other retailers across the industry.
“We were extremely proud to support this Crimestoppers campaign as part of our wider efforts to tackle counterfeit products, protect and support British businesses and consumers.
“Amazon works with brands and law enforcement around the world and groups like Crimestoppers to help rid the industry of counterfeit goods. In 2021, we identified, supported the seizures of, and appropriately disposed of more than 3 million counterfeit products, preventing them from potentially harming our customers or being resold elsewhere.
“We won’t stop until we drive counterfeits to zero in our stores, and this partnership with Crimestoppers represented another positive step in the industry-wide fight against counterfeits.” -

"We are delighted to be working with Crimestoppers on this important campaign. Crimestoppers has run the NHS Counter Fraud Authority reporting line for England and Wales for more than four years. Our highly skilled and experienced Contact Centre staff are key to the successful running of this service and understanding the complex fraud issues.
“In today's challenging financial climate, every pound lost to fraud is a pound taken away from patient care. The NHS Counter Fraud Authority's work is essential in safeguarding these precious resources. Our partnership with Crimestoppers continues to support this work by providing a secure and trusted 24/7 reporting line that empowers people to speak up against fraud anonymously and protect our NHS." -
As a charity, Crimestoppers receives information on all types of criminal activity and wrongdoing. In many instances, this information can involve a commercial organisation. Morrisons has partnered with Crimestoppers to receive information that involves their supermarkets, so that they can work to reduce crime around their estate with the aim of protecting their brand, their colleagues, and the neighbourhoods in which they operate.
In recent years Morrisons has introduce dual branded CCTV vans, promoting their partnership with Crimestoppers. These vans are used in crime hotspots, not only to deter criminal activity, but to also catch it on camera, as well as providing members of the public with a trusted call to action so they can tell us what they know about crime in the area, 100% anonymously.
Morrisons understands the importance of information in protecting their business and local communities. -
Our IP, rewards and information sharing services have helped Openreach deter and combat crimes against the company.
We work closely with their internal security taskforce to fight the damage and theft of cables that disrupt their network and in turn affect local businesses, communities and emergency services.
“The information provided anonymously by members of the public via Crimestoppers is invaluable in bringing the people responsible for damaging our infrastructure to justice. Attacks to our network can leave local communities and businesses without vital telephone, broadband and TV services. Even the smallest piece of information, like a description of someone acting suspiciously, or a vehicle registration number, can help to catch the individuals responsible and prevent further attacks.
"When there is criminal theft or damage to our digital network, the loss of phone and broadband is not only inconvenient but can put vulnerable people at risk. Repair work also pulls our engineers away from other work, which can take weeks to finish, and costs thousands of pounds.
“That's why we're delighted that our long-term partnership with Crimestoppers help us get information from the public which can bring criminals, who damage our network, to justice. Even the smallest piece of information, like a description of someone acting suspiciously, or a vehicle registration number, can help to catch the individuals responsible and prevent further attacks. Crimestoppers works closely with our dedicated security team which investigates all attacks and our network is alarmed and monitored 24/7 by our control centre.
“It's thanks to Crimestoppers, and its support, that make criminals take notice and now think twice before deciding to target our network.” -
“Our partnership with Crimestoppers is long-standing and they are entrusted to provide the ‘Next Integrity Line’, which allows all colleagues across the Next Group the opportunity to report a multitude of different work-related issues with the strictest confidence.
"Recently we worked with Crimestoppers to produce a secure, mobile phone-friendly online form and made it accessible by QR code. In addition to this, we worked collaboratively to produce a short animation that highlighted the benefits of using the service (by phone or online). This has delivered a significant improvement in incident reporting since its launch, and enabled Next to investigate and conclude matters that may not have previously been brought to our attention.” -
The FireStoppers service was launched with our Fire Service partners in 2018. It gives members of the public a way to speak up about incidents of arson that can endanger lives and destroy communities. It is also a way for people to tell us about attacks on Fire Fighters or Fire Response Vehicles. Any information about those involved in these types of incidents can be crucial in keeping neighbourhoods, and those who work in the Fire Service, safe.
We have also expanded the service to enable people to pass information on to Fire Services about fire safety concerns, fly-tipping and hoarding, so that Fire Services partners can take proactive steps to keep people safe, to protect people and communities from the risk of fire, and to understand how many teams and what equipment will be needed should a fire break out.
Keeping communities safer together. -

In 2016, Crimestoppers set up a reporting service on behalf of the British energy industry, to enable the public to report on energy theft, 100% anonymously. The Stay Energy Safe service now takes over 17,700 contacts each year, passing on over 12,400 pieces of information.
This service is supported by year-round marketing campaign, undertaken by RECCo and their marketing agency BH&P. The campaign raises awareness of the service, educates members of the public about energy theft - what it looks like and the dangers it poses - and gives them the peace of mind that they can pass on any information they have about meter tampering/energy theft, completely anonymously.
This information is important in ensuring people, homes, businesses, and communities remain safe from the severe dangers of energy theft.
"Stay Energy Safe is an invaluable asset which raises awareness of, and helps in the fight against, energy theft. Since the creation of the service, the anonymous reporting line has been crucial in empowering the public to report and share vital information on meter tampering and energy theft.
"The complete anonymity guaranteed by Crimestoppers is essential, as it provides people with the confidence to speak up against meter tampering and energy theft. This, coupled with the ongoing public awareness campaigns we undertake with our marketing partner, not only educates the public on the dangers of energy theft, but it also provides a safe and effective channel for reporting the crime.
"The information gathered through Stay Energy Safe is critical in helping to protect individuals, homes, businesses, and the wider community from the risks associated with energy theft.
"We are proud to partner with Crimestoppers on this important initiative." -

Regarded as the leaders in intellectual property protection in the film and broadcasting sectors, we also investigate cybercrime, fraud and other IP crime. Our intelligence-gathering investigations and global due diligence services mitigate risk and assist governments, law enforcement and private organisations in making informed decisions.

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) works to ensure sport in the UK is free from doping and to promote and protect clean sport through education, testing and enforcement. UKAD has been working with Crimestoppers since 2010. Thanks to a close working relationship, together we have been able to help raise awareness of UKAD’s vital Protect Your Sport campaign.
Protecting clean sport depends on everyone in sport playing their part, to maintain a level playing field. Clean competition rests on athletes, parents and support staff having the know-how to speak out when something wrong in sport – no matter how small the information may seem. To find out more, search ‘Protect Your Sport’ or visit UKAD’s website here.
