Northamptonshire: Surge in crime info to our charity & current volunteering opportunities
Our charity, which is independent of the police, saw an increase in information of over 20 per cent from the county. This means that over 2,000 people contacted us in the year to April.
This surge in reports comes as the Crimestoppers’ Northamptonshire Volunteer Committee is recruiting for a new Volunteer Chair, Fundraiser and Marketing person. Local committees help to build, develop and deliver on the work of the national charity.
Lydia Patsalides, East Midlands Crimestoppers’ Regional Manager “We are pleased that more people than ever are contacting Crimestoppers from communities across Northamptonshire. They’re passing on high-quality information about a wide range of crimes, from domestic abuse to rural crime. Our charity is here for anybody who wishes to do the right thing but wants to remain 100% anonymous. We have kept our anonymity guarantee since we started over 35 years ago.
“We are looking forward to welcoming a new Volunteer Committee Chair, along with filling volunteer positions covering fundraising and marketing. Our Committee plays a vital role in supporting local events, facilitating fundraising activities and backing local awareness campaigns. Volunteers provide insights and knowledge on behalf of local communities.
“If you are interested in applying for any of these voluntary roles, please visit our web page and complete an application form. Every volunteer generously gives freely of their time and skills to make a difference, to help make Northamptonshire safe.”
