Have you got a little spare time to fight, and help prevent, crime in our beautiful county?
Dorset Crimestoppers are looking to recruit new volunteer Board Members. If you are able to offer a few hours a month, we would like to hear from you.
Volunteering can take many guises. We are looking for people who want to change people’s lives, making our towns, countryside and villages in Dorset even safer places to live and work in, and enjoy.
The acclaimed ‘Broadchurch’ TV series was filmed almost entirely in Dorset, with locations in and around West Bay and the nearby villages and countryside. The famous cliffs of the Jurassic Coast featured in the programmes and in the title credits. What better incentive than to keep to such beautiful places in Dorset free of crime and those with criminal intent?
Julie Hesmondhalgh, who gave such a brilliant and moving performance as the victim Trish in the series, has agreed to become the patron of The Dorset Rape Crisis Charity, one of many groups and organisations actively supported by Dorset Crimestoppers.
You may have skills in website design. or have a marketing background. Maybe you are an ideas person, a good communicator with the ability to assist at events or fundraising, because we are a charity and raise our own funds to operate and fulfil the aims of the organisation.
We aim to have our display at various shows around the county throughout the year, and need more volunteers to set up the stand, hand out literature and information and talk to visitors about the work of Crimestoppers.
The people you will meet on the board are from all walks of life, and different ages, so why not come and join us? It's rewarding and interesting, and your contribution will make a difference to the lives of many people.
People who contact Crimestoppers with information do so anonymously and contribute hugely to reducing crime and helping to catch and prosecute offenders. Please fill out a volunteering enquiry form or just contact the Chair, Kathie Emery, on 01258 820416 or email email@example.com.
