At the last West Country Crimestoppers committee meeting it was time to say "farewell" to long-standing committee member Alex McArthur.

The Chair of West Country Crimestoppers, David Duckworth, said:

"All at West Country Crimestoppers are very sorry to be losing Alex who has been a huge asset to our committee bringing her extensive knowledge of marketing, PR, managing websites and social media. Alex has been an active member of the committee for the last four years and in all that time she has been a conscientious and keen promoter of our charity.

"She has always proactively supported all our numerous fundraising events and projects, helping to produce the programmes and publicity materials for them as well as promoting our positive messages. We are going to miss you, Alex!"

Alex's duties are being taken on by new volunteers Janice Saunders and Helen Carpenter.

David presented Alex with a framed certificate as recognition and thanks for all her hard work over the years and Janice and Helen, to the amusement of all, pointed out that it was taking two of them to cover the work that Alex had been doing!

Gordon Chisholm, West Country's Regional Manager, also presented Alex with a small gift on behalf of the committee and all wished Alex well and hoped she would still be involved in some of our events, which she confirmed she would be.

Good Luck for the future, Alex!
