How we work at a local level through our committee
Crimestoppers is a charity, so we rely on volunteers to help us with our work. We aim to tell more people about our anonymous phone number, 0800 555 111, and our Anonymous Online Form. If more people know about Crimestoppers and that they can call anonymously with information about crime, we can help to make Suffolk a safer place for us all to live and work.
The Suffolk Crimestoppers chair and committee are all relatively new and very keen to start tackling crime across Suffolk. The renewly appointed Chair, Sue Hall, has been working hard to recruit new volunteers to the Suffolk committee. The work is ongoing and there remains much to do, so we are still seeking volunteers to join our committee. Please get in touch if you know someone who may be interested.
Sue Hall (Chair):
Sue has been running her own business since 2010, a franchise for the domestic cleaning agency Maid2Clean. Sue has had many jobs over the years in various industries – law, construction, property, architects, engineers, advertising, management consultants etc. – at large multi-nationals such as Saatchi & Saatchi and Bovis as well as many smaller companies, acquiring skills all the time and progressing from secretarial to executive PA and then on to Administration and Project Management work.
Oliver Walters (Marketing):
Oliver is Behavioural Insight Manager at CBS Outdoor, based in Camden, working with predominantly Public Sector, Third Sector and other related industries. The Behavioural Insight team incorporates social marketing/nudge principles into planning as part of evidence based campaigns. Oliver has experience working personally with a range of community charities and was a trustee of Suffolk-based charity Home-Start Mid Suffolk until very recently. Oliver has been a parent governor at the local high school for over 4 years.
Matt Huggins (Fundraising and Social Media/Web):
Matthew works for UK Power Networks and is based in Ipswich. He works within a small team managing the security of the 130,000 Grid/Sub/Primary stations, offices and depots, with metal theft being the main threat. Matthew is experienced in CCTV, intruder alarms, remote access control and security. Born in Suffolk, Matthew enjoys spending his free time cycling, kayaking and walking.
