In Jersey, one of the more serious crimes against women and children is domestic abuse – a crime believed to be widely under-reported. Substantial progress has been made to help victims of domestic abuse but more needs to be done. So, what can you do?

One option is to learn more about the independent charity Crimestoppers and the service it provides to enable you to pass on information about crime anonymously. We know it can be difficult to get involved – for many different reasons, and this is particularly relevant to domestic abuse.

You can trust Crimestoppers to protect your identity

By calling Crimestoppers, you can trust us to protect your identity but to pass on your concerns to the police.

What will the police do with my information?

The police will research the information provided - this could mean more research or action is taken by specially trained Domestic Abuse Officers.

Victims of Abuse

Due to our anonymity guarantee, victims of crime cannot report crime to us. If you are in immediate danger:

  • Dial 999
  • At other times contact 612612 to report a crime or 612239 to ask Police Domestic Abuse Officers for help and advice

About the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

By resolution 54/134 of 17 December 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and invited governments, international organizations and NGOs to organize activities designed to raise public awareness of the problem on that day.
