Working with the Environment Agency to Stop, Report & Shut Down Waste Criminals

Waste crime

Crimestoppers has worked in partnership with the Environment Agency for over a decade. We work together to protect our towns, countryside and environment from those who profit from illegally disposing of or exporting waste.

When our charity receives information on large-scale, industrial fly-tipping, or the illegal export of waste, we pass it on to law enforcement as well as the Environment Agency. The Environment Agency then uses this information to build the bigger crime picture, establish the basis for an investigation, or add it to the information they are already building a case around to help strengthen the evidence they have.

The Environment Agency takes waste crime extremely seriously, combining their powers with those of partner organisations to Stop, Report and Shut Down waste criminals.

Recently, Crimestoppers worked with the Environment Agency to produce a short video, to encourage people to tell us what they know about waste crime. Speaking up to Crimestoppers guarantees your anonymity, enabling you to pass on what you know, to the right people, with the peace of mind that nobody else will know that you spoke to us.

Waste crime often supports other more serious crimes, with organised crime gangs feeding the profits made from their illegal waste disposal and export into other criminal activities. So, stopping those carrying out waste crime can also prevent other criminal activity from taking place.

If you have information on the:
