Hampshire: Appeal for volunteers to get involved in combatting local crime

Volunteering with Crimestoppers

We are calling for volunteers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, to help tackle crime, to make the areas safer places to live, work or visit.

Volunteers help to give a voice to people who don’t feel able to speak up with information about crime. Our charity, which is independent of the police, takes crime information 100 per cent anonymously.

“If you’re concerned about crime in your town and you have a few hours a month to spare, please consider volunteering with Crimestoppers – you will be making a positive impact in your local area by using your existing skills and knowledge.

“We are looking for people from all communities who can attend events or give talks which will raise awareness of our charity. We also need a Chair for the committee who has excellent leadership and networking skills, as well as people with administration and financial skills they would like to use to make Hampshire and the Isle of wight safer.

“As a volunteer, you will help us to connect with every community, so that we can increase recognition of our charity. You will be helping us to let people know about our 24/7 0800 555 111 number or online untraceable form, where information can be given 100% anonymously about crime. It’s a great way to use your existing skills to help your local area, or to develop new expertise – all whilst knowing you are making a significant difference to people’s lives.”
