On fifth anniversary of teenager’s drive-by murder in Kennington we offer £20,000 information reward

Crimestoppers reward for information on the murder of Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton
We are supporting the investigation to help solve the murder of a teenager who was shot dead five years ago.

17-year-old Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton was murdered on the evening of Saturday May 5, 2018 at around 6pm. Shots were fired from a passing BMW car that struck Rhyhiem as he was believed to be standing with friends on the corner of John Ruskin Street and Camberwell New Road in Kennington, south London.

He died shortly after from his injuries.

There were people present who have, so far, remained silent. Crimestoppers is reaching out by reminding everyone that those with information have the option of doing something positive after Rhyhiem’s murder whilst staying completely anonymous. No police, no courts, no witness statements, no comeback.

Despite the Met Police conducting extensive enquiries leading to a number of arrests, no one has been charged or found guilty for their involvement in his murder.

Crimestoppers – the charity which is independent of the police – is supporting the investigation by offering up to £20,000 for anonymous information exclusively received that leads to the conviction of those responsible for the murder of Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton. Claiming a reward:

Whilst the overwhelming majority of people who contact Crimestoppers do so without asking for a reward, the £20,000 offer is available to encourage someone with vital information to come forward, anonymously.

The reward will only be payable for information passed directly to Crimestoppers and not to the police. A reward code must be asked for when calling the charity on 0800 555 111. If you contact Crimestoppers via the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org, the 'keeping in contact’ facility must be used and a reward code must be requested. You must log back in 24 hours later to get the code. You will be asked to check with Crimestoppers two months later with the reward code to see if there has been a positive result.
