Newcastle: Attack outside nightclub sees our charity offer reward & appeal for info

Crimestoppers supports investigation with reward offer after an unprovoked attack (GBH) left victim with serious face & ankle injuries.

Following an assault on a young man in Newcastle who was left with serious injuries, Crimestoppers is offering a reward and urging anyone with information to contact us anonymously.

At just after midnight on 12 February 2022, the victim, a 20-year-old, was queuing to enter Flares nightclub in the city centre on Moseley Street.

Another man was waiting behind him and accused him of queue jumping. Shortly after, the victim was punched in the head numerous times causing him to fall to the ground. Once there, he was repeatedly kicked.

The perpetrator fled, but returned a short time later, but was prevented from continuing the assault by a man in a red jacket.

The victim was rushed to hospital and sustained serious facial and ankle injuries.

***Crimestoppers is supporting the investigation by offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information the charity exclusively receives - via our website or by phoning 0800 555 111 - that leads to the arrest and charge of the man responsible***

The man in the CCTV images above was in the area at the time and may be able to assist with the investigation.

“There was no excuse for this unprovoked attack on a young man in Newcastle who was purely out to enjoy Newcastle’s nightlife.

“The perpetrator needs to be caught and brought to justice before he causes even more damage to another innocent individual.

“It would really help the investigation to know who the man in the red jacket was and another man who was in the area at the time. We hope that there will be people who remember this attack, who have stayed silent but now want to do the right thing. It maybe that you didn’t speak up because you know the individual concerned, or fear reprisals.

“Please call our UK Contact Centre on freephone 0800 555 111 or fill in a simple and secure anonymous online form. Information our charity receives each and every day goes a long way to helping secure justice for victims and their families, and helps to keep all our communities safe.”
