Our finances
Our Annual Report and Accounts celebrate our achievements over the last financial year.
Financial highlights 2023/2024
Revenue has again grown, rising by 10% to £7.8m. Costs have risen by 12%, which have again been well controlled despite higher inflation seen during the year. The surplus of £411k was consistent with the prior year and has again been used to strengthen free reserves, which have risen to £2.4m.
Support for all our activities has grown, notably for our core Contact Centre and Integrity Line service, which rose by 10% to just under £4m. Income from donations and grants also grew, demonstrating the strong support that has been built with corporate and other supporters.
As in 22/23, we have continued to invest in the software used to deliver our service, with development of a bespoke Connect product designed to enable simpler delivery of reports.
"The financial outcome for the year was again good, with revenue increasing across the majority of areas we work in. This has again enabled our charitable activities to grow, notably by allowing us to work with police forces on major campaigns. As ever, we remain grateful for the support our partners offer to us as a unique charitable service to the public.
"We continue to invest in the tools we use and the people who deliver them, with an encouraging increase in the median length of service of those who work in our Contact Centre.
"Crimestoppers continues to increase its financial strength, giving our charity the security it needs to withstand whatever economic circumstances prevail."

How we are funded
At Crimestoppers, we rely heavily on generating income from our supporters, trusts and foundations and the public through donations and funding. Together, we share a central goal of making our communities and workplaces safe and secure.
We want you to feel confident that we’re spending our money wisely. That’s why we’re committed to being open about how we're funded and managed.
Who are our supporters?
- our corporate partners, who pay for a range of specialist services
- our generous individual donors
- our brilliant volunteers, who give their time and energy
- community partners and police, who share their information with us.
Partnerships
There may be times when information received by Crimestoppers is passed on to our trusted partner organisations. Crimestoppers will only share this information to help keep communities and workplaces safe.
Our partners are crucial to our work. In addition to valuable financial support, our anonymous reporting services gives organisations and public sector bodies important intelligence. This helps them better prevent and disrupt criminal activities.
Law enforcement community
The support we receive from the Home Office, Police and Crime Commissioners and local constabularies is vital to our success in encouraging more people to speak up and stop crime. They help our tailored campaigns tackle specific types of crimes at a local level.
