Financial highlights 2024/2025

Revenue fell slightly by 2% in the year due to lower income from other trading activities. Costs also fell, by a larger amount of 5%, again demonstrating good control of expenses in an environment where inflation has remained above the Bank of England’s target of 2%. As a result, the surplus grew to a healthy £634k, which has allowed free reserves to be strengthened further, rising to £3.1m.

Income from charitable activities, which include the core Contact Centre and Integrity Line service, grew strongly to £4.6m, a rise of 16%. Investment income grew by 5% to £131k and which has now become an additional revenue stream.

We continue to invest in the quality of our software tools, with implementation of a CRM system to improve volunteer and supporter engagement, together with continued additions to our core operating database.

Despite underlying cost increases, notably in employment expenses, the demand for our service from partners and supporters remains strong as we head into the 25/26 financial year.

“Despite a small fall in income, largely attributable to a reduction in marketing support revenue, the financial outcome was again good. Particularly pleasing was the growth in Integrity Line income, which rose to an all time high of £1.6m. This demonstrates the strong partnerships we have built up with clients across the commercial, charitable and statutory sectors.

"Such strong income, combined with good control of costs, has allowed our charitable activities to grow, notably volunteer support, our Fearless youth brand and the network of Regional Managers who provide support to Police Forces.

"Our financial strength has again grown, enabling all those we work with to be certain of our ability to continue to provide our unique service.”

How we are funded

At Crimestoppers, we rely heavily on generating income from our supporters, trusts and foundations and the public through donations and funding. Together, we share a central goal of making our communities and workplaces safe and secure.

We want you to feel confident that we’re spending our money wisely. That’s why we’re committed to being open about how we're funded and managed.

Who are our supporters?

  • our corporate partners, who pay for a range of specialist services
  • our generous individual donors
  • our brilliant volunteers, who give their time and energy
  • community partners and police, who share their information with us.

Partnerships

There may be times when information received by Crimestoppers is passed on to our trusted partner organisations. Crimestoppers will only share this information to help keep communities and workplaces safe.

Our partners are crucial to our work. In addition to valuable financial support, our anonymous reporting services gives organisations and public sector bodies important intelligence. This helps them better prevent and disrupt criminal activities.

Law enforcement community

The support we receive from the Home Office, Police and Crime Commissioners and local constabularies is vital to our success in encouraging more people to speak up and stop crime. They help our tailored campaigns tackle specific types of crimes at a local level.
