Info wanted after brutal attack saw couple threatened in their Birmingham home

We at Crimestoppers are offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information after a young couple were attacked in their home in Smith’s Wood, Birmingham and forced to hand over a large sum of money.

The couple, who were expecting their third child, returned home at around 5.20pm on Saturday 13 December 2025. As they opened their front door, three men got out of a car parked nearby and forced their way into the house behind them.

In what police believe may have been a planned and targeted attack, the men demanded that the couple transfer a substantial amount of cryptocurrency, with instructions relayed by a fourth person on a video call.

The husband was assaulted and suffered significant injuries and his wife, who was pregnant at the time, was also threatened with a knife.

The men left with the funds, along with a number of high-value watches, in a car believed to be a black BMW X3.

All are attackers are believed to be their twenties. Due to them wearing face coverings and hoods, accurate descriptions have been difficult, but one was described as a black man with a small diagonal scar beneath his left eyebrow.
