Crimestoppers hosts London’s Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
Here at Crimestoppers, we were recently delighted to receive a visit from Kaya Comer-Schwartz, London’s Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime.

The Deputy Mayor of London for Policing and Crime is head of the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime, part of the Greater London Authority. The role is similar to that of an elected Police and Crime Commissioner elsewhere in England and Wales, with the extra powers added of being able to issue a Police and Crime Plan, and to appoint and remove senior Metropolitan Police officers.
The current Deputy Mayor is Kaya Comer-Schwartz, who was appointed by the Mayor in October 2024. Before that, she was the elected leader of Islington Council, where she had been Executive Member for Community Safety and Children, and a Councillor since 2013.
