Community Ambassadors

Help your community stop crime: be a Community Ambassador with Crimestoppers

Every time crime happens, someone knows who is responsible. Perhaps they tell the police what they know, or confide in a support worker. Often they stay silent, afraid to get involved, unwilling to talk to police, unsure they can make a difference.

Everyone should feel confident to speak up.

Crimestoppers can help. Our promise of anonymity allows thousands of people every day speak up to help solve and prevent crimes.

You can help. Tell your community about Crimestoppers; those people who may keep silent. Show we are relevant to them, a safe place to share their information, a charity they can trust.

Community Ambassadors are local organisations with knowledge of their communities. For instance:

Community Safety Partnerships

Hospitals and Health Centres

Domestic abuse support groups

Probation or offender support teams

Local branches of national charities e.g. MIND

Drug and alcohol teams

Prisons

SOS buses

Housing associations

Neighbourhood Watch

Victim support organisations

Women’s refuges

Street pastors

Faith groups

Community associations

Park rangers

Your staff and volunteers are often in day-to-day contact with those who are involved with or affected by crime.

  • Ambassadors make Crimestoppers relevant.
  • You can build trust in our anonymous service, so those who may keep silent about crime can be confident to speak up, 100% anonymously.
  • Give people the power to speak up and you will increase the quantity and quality of intelligence given to police and therefore help keep communities safer.
