Founders of Charlie’s Promise knife crime charity announced as Fearless Ambassadors

We were delighted to welcome Martin and Tara Cosser, founders of Charlie's Promise, to our head office recently.

Charlie’s Promise was created in memory of Charlie Cosser, a bright, kind and funny young man whose life was tragically taken by knife violence in July 2023. As Charlie lay fighting for his life, his dad Martin made him a promise - that he would spend the rest of his life educating young people about the dangers and immeasurable impacts of knife crime.

The charity is dedicated to helping the fight against the rising issue of knife crime in Surrey and across the UK. They educate, inspire and support young people about the immeasurable impact knife crime has on the victim’s family and friends and wider communities, and work to empower them to make safer, more positive choices.

Founders Martin and Tara Cosser have long promoted our youth service Fearless and have recently become official Fearless Ambassadors. Their new Ambassador role marks an important step in strengthening the relationship between Charlie’s Promise and Fearless, with both organisations united by a shared commitment to preventing violence and empowering young people to make safer choices.

They spoke openly about the tragedy their family has experienced, and shared their passion for preventing violence and supporting young people. They expressed how much they are looking forward to working even more closely with us and thanked us for recognising the importance of the work carried out by Charlie’s Promise.
