Congratulations to the Fearless Scotland team!

We’re delighted to announce that our Scotland Fearless Manager, Lyndsay McDade, has been announced as the winner of not one but two awards at the Scottish Cyber Awards.

Lyndsay McDade

Lyndsay won both the Cyber Culture and Public Sector Cyber Impact categories for her sextortion campaign, which she ran last year in partnership with Scottish Government and Police Scotland.

Sextortion is a growing crime, unfortunately, where victims, often young people, are blackmailed by people who have obtained nude or ‘sexy’ pictures of them and demand money or try to force them to do something in return for not sharing the images.

Lyndsay’s campaign highlighted that this is NOT the victim’s fault, that help is available, and that information about those carrying out this crime can be given to Fearless.org and Crimestoppers, with the guarantee of anonymity.
