The London Marathon – “What an incredible experience!”
Ollie Hair, a Threat Analyst with Pool Reinsurance, ran the London Marathon last Sunday, raising £2,540 for Crimestoppers and setting a competitive time of 4 hours 37 mins. Here is what he had to say about the experience:

“My legs are still extremely sore - but what an incredible experience!
“I was initially signed up to run the London Marathon for Crimestoppers after delivering a briefing at their Contact Centre. Having had the opportunity to see the incredible work that Crimestoppers carries out first-hand, and with a push of encouragement from my colleagues and friends, I signed up to the challenge.
“My entry into the Marathon came as a surprise to everyone I told, not least because of my chequered history of school cross-country disasters and my general dislike for running. However, following a weekly training plan, and with the support of the team at Crimestoppers, I can honestly say that I enjoyed all it took to get to the start line, and will continue to run in the future.
“The day itself was as challenging as it was inspiring; an extraordinary event that I would recommend to everyone and anyone. Thank you again to Crimestoppers for allowing me to run for such a worthwhile cause, and to all those who donated and supported me through this challenge.
“It was truly a fantastic experience, and one that I hope to be able to be involved in again in the future (maybe see you next year?!).”
