Volunteer Saffron wins Avon & Somerset Police award

Saffron is presented with her award

Congratulations to our Crimestoppers in the West Country volunteer Saffron, who has won the Learning Category in the annual Avon and Somerset Police Children and Young People Awards.

University student Saffron’s volunteering role for Crimestoppers is to keep our West Country Facebook page content current for our followers, and she also finds time to volunteer in person at various events across the West Country.

Accompanied at the award ceremony (held at the Grand Pier, Weston-Super-Mare) by her Mum Caitlin, Saffron received her award from DCI Lucy Edgeworth, Avon & Somerset Police Director of Intelligence.

Saffron displays her award

Saffron has just been awarded a First Class degree in Criminology and Forensic Studies, and has decided to embark on a Masters next, before choosing her ultimate career pathway

Avon and Somerset Police said:

“It was a very strong submission, and we were very impressed that Saffron has managed to volunteer and juggle a university degree at the same time. Her commitment shines through.”

From us all at Crimestoppers - congratulations, Saffron!
