Stop! Think Fraud campaign enters next phase
Fraud affects millions of people each year and anyone can be a victim.
According to the Crime Survey of England and Wales, in the year ending September 2024, fraud accounted for around 41% of all estimated crime, with around 1 in 15 adults being victims of fraud.
The government is committed to:
- Pursuing fraudsters by increasing law enforcement capacity to pursue and disrupt fraudsters
- Blocking fraud by working with industry to block frauds from reaching the public in the first place
- Empowering people by helping the public to avoid fraud and respond appropriately when it does get through.
Its national campaign against fraud, Stop! Think Fraud, continues in March, having been developed by the Home Office, National Cyber Security Centre, City of London Police and the National Crime Agency.
