Reward offered to identify people following violent disorder in Sunderland

We are offering rewards of up to £1,000 to help identify 25 people police want to trace following violent disorder in Sunderland last year.

The appeal comes after disorder broke out in the city centre on Friday, 2 August. This saw police officers attacked, buildings and vehicles damaged and shops looted.

The money will be paid out to anyone who provides information to us 100% anonymously, which leads to successful convictions.

As part of the ongoing investigation, six months on from the day of the disorder – 25 images of people law enforcement would like to trace have been released.

A large-scale investigation was immediately launched after the disorder. To date, 84 arrests have now been made, with 30 people already pleading guilty to a range of serious criminal offences – including nine who have admitted riot.
 
Those offenders have either been sentenced or are awaiting sentence, with 45 years’ worth of prison time already handed out. 
 
To be eligible for a reward, anyone with information should contact our charity, which is independent of the police, 100% anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111 at any time, or complete our safe and secure online form.
  
Those pictured are also encouraged to come forward to police.
 
Information about the identities of those pictured can also be shared directly with Northumbria Police, but this would not lead to a reward. The public can do this via a direct message on social media, or use the live chat function on the Force’s website.
