Campaign launched to help make Bury safer

Tell us about crime in Bury

We've launched a new initiative in Bury, to help keep people safer and to help reduce serious crime.

Crimestoppers has run several local campaigns over the last year across Greater Manchester to raise awareness of its anonymous reporting service and to encourage residents to provide information on crimes such as drug dealing, knife crime, gun crime, criminal gangs, anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse and drink and drug driving.

This campaign is part of our strategy across Greater Manchester to engage with communities as an independent charity, using targeted social media activity, leaflet drops, reaching young people using our Fearless.org youth brand, and engaging with residents to increase reporting and giving the community a powerful voice.

Information from the community is vital in reducing crime in the area, with Crimestoppers being a quick and safe way to do that 100% anonymously.

Last year we received over 14,000 pieces of information on crime in Greater Manchester, which was a record.

Do you have information about crimes? You can tell us and remain 100% anonymous - guaranteed. Call free on 0800 555 111 or fill in our onlne form, here on our website:

Give information anonymously

“Crimestoppers is pleased to launch this campaign in Bury, working with a wide range of partners and those who live and work in the area to help make Bury safer.

“Over the last year we have received significant community information from Bury which has led to seizures of drugs and weapons, arrests and vulnerable adults and children being safeguarded.

“Every piece of information given to Crimestoppers is vital in building the intelligence picture of those who are involved in criminal activity and in helping to reduce crime and save lives.

“In 36 years, we have never revealed the identity of anyone who has contacted us by phone or online - you will always remain anonymous."
