Crimestoppers and Abri – keeping communities safer together.
One of our charity’s core beliefs is that everyone has the right to feel safe from crime, wherever they live.
That’s why we’re working in partnership with housing association Abri, who share that value with the homes and communities they create across the UK.
When customers feel empowered to make a difference, everyone in that community benefits. However, we understand that even if you suspect that something isn’t right in your area, there can feel like a lot of barriers when it comes to actually speaking up and being the change for good. You might really want to help, but have worries like:
- “What if I don’t have enough details?”
- “I’m not even sure if what I’ve seen counts as a crime.”
- “Will my information really be that much help?”
- “I’m worried that someone will find out it was me who spoke up.”
That’s where Abri and Crimestoppers can help.
We’re working together to help you spot the signs of criminal activity and know how and when to report it. We want you to have the confidence to call it out. This includes:
- The warning signs of vulnerable people being trapped into County Lines activity.
- The costs to communities when criminals turn properties into illegal cannabis farms.
- How to keep your streets safer by coming together to stop knife crime, how to talk to loved ones who might have got themselves involved, and how it’s never too late to do the right thing.
Giving you the power to speak up
You now know all the warning signs, and hopefully you’ll never see something that has you worried, but if you do, we’re here for you.
Of course, in an emergency, or if a crime is happening now, always call 999.
Our charity is all about giving people a safe, secure, 100% anonymous service they can use to speak up with information that could stop a crime, 24/7. We don’t take your personal details, we don’t record calls or IP addresses, only what you know about the crime. This all means no-one can ever link your information back to you, not even us. You can find out more about how we keep you anonymous here.
Being a charity also means we’re not part of the police. We just take the information and pass it on to the relevant force for you, meaning no police contact, witness statements, or court appearances etc.
Anonymity guaranteed. Call free on 0800 555 111, or fill in our quick and easy online form:
Are you a victim of crime?
Due to our anonymity guarantee, we can't take information from victims of crime, but there’s lots of help out there for you.
In an emergency, or if a crime is happening now, always call 999.
If you’ve been affected by crime, Victim Support can give you the help you need to move forward. Their services are free, confidential and available to anyone in England and Wales, regardless of whether the crime has been reported or how long ago it happened. Call their free Support line on 0808 1689 111.
