Regional Manager

Regional Manager

Hayley Fry is one of our Regional Managers, and she helps to promote Crimestoppers, and our youth service Fearless, in Wales, as well as creating campaigns and encouraging community engagement.

How long have you been with Crimestoppers, and why did you choose us?

I've been with the charity since April 2021. Before joining Crimestoppers, I was an account manager within the private sector. Crimestoppers as a charity has an ethos that I personally feel passionate about. Crimestoppers is unique in that members of the public can report crime 100% anonymously. There are many reasons why someone may not want to report a crime to the police, and Crimestoppers truly bridges that gap.

What is a typical day like for you?

It hugely differs day-to-day for a Regional Manager, although building relationships is a constant feature. That could be agreeing campaign material for an all-Wales public awareness campaign, or talking to stakeholders about community safety priorities. In Wales, promoting our youth brand Fearless is also vitally important - it's all about developing an understanding and trust in our ability and determinedness to help reduce crime.

What’s been your biggest success so far?

My biggest success is raising the profile of the charity across Wales and recruiting the two newest members of the Fearless team. The engagement opportunities are endless.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I am a magistrate in adult criminal court. I have been sitting on the bench now for five years. There is one similarity between my role as Crimestoppers Manager for Wales and my volunteering role as a magistrate, in that I am working for the seldom-heard communities. Those that polite society forgets. Those that would not call the police to report a crime or ask for help in times of need, and therefore end up in criminal court. In both my roles I strive to do my utmost to be inclusive to all.

As you live in Wales but journey down to our head office in London sometimes: city or countryside?

Easy question - countryside all day long. I live just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park. The views are absolutely breath-taking. However, the weather is not for the faint-hearted - on many occasions I’ve seen four seasons in one day!
