Help make Garston safer

Keep Garston safe

We have launched a new initiative in Garston, Merseyside to keep people safer and to reduce serious crime.

This year, our charity received over 8,000 pieces of information about crime on Merseyside, which is a record and up 22% compared to the year before.

Crimestoppers has run several local campaigns this year across Merseyside to raise awareness of our anonymous reporting service and to encourage residents to provide information on crimes such as drug dealing, knife crime, gun crime, criminal gangs, anti-social behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse and drink and drug driving.

This campaign is part of our charity’s strategy on Merseyside to engage with communities using targeted social media activity and leaflet drops. Young people will be reached using our charity’s Fearless.org youth brand. Residents will be engaged with to increase reporting and to give the community a powerful voice.

Information from the community is vital in reducing crime in the area with our charity being a quick and safe way to do that 100% anonymously.

"Over the last year we have seen a very significant increase in reports about Merseyside which has led to seizures of drugs and weapons, arrests and vulnerable adults and children safeguarded.

“Every piece of information given to Crimestoppers is vital in building the intelligence picture of those who are involved in criminal activity and in helping to reduce crime and save lives.

“In 36 years, we have never revealed the identity of anyone who has contacted us by phone or online, you will always remain anonymous.”

Gary Murray, Crimestoppers North West Regional Manager for the North West
