Isle of Man Crimestoppers
Helping keep the island community safe
Crimestoppers in the Isle of Man is a registered charity (Charity Number 730) dedicated to safeguarding the Island's community by reducing and preventing crime. Crimestoppers provides an invaluable platform for residents to share information anonymously about criminal activities, offering both a telephone hotline and an online reporting form.
Objectives of Isle of Man Crimestoppers:
- The advancement, promotion and preservation of public law and order.
- The advancement and promotion of efficient policing. The promotion and encouragement of good citizenship and greater public participation and solution of crime.
- The furtherance of the administration of justice.
Anonymity and confidentiality
All contacts made through the telephone number or online form are handled by a dedicated call centre in the United Kingdom, ensuring that no information is received or processed within the Isle of Man itself. This separation reinforces the anonymity of each report, allowing individuals to come forward without fear of identification or reprisal. The details shared are then passed on to the Isle of Man Constabulary or other relevant agencies for further action.
Independence and partnerships
While Crimestoppers works closely with the Isle of Man Constabulary and other partner organisations, such as the Education, Health, and Social Services sectors, it operates as a completely independent entity, separate from the police. By collaborating with a range of agencies, Crimestoppers ensures a comprehensive approach to tackling crime and supporting community well-being.
National and local campaigns
Crimestoppers supports a variety of national campaigns and runs its own initiatives aimed at addressing critical issues such as drug smuggling and supply, domestic violence, knife crime, organised crime groups, and drug and drink driving. These campaigns raise awareness, provide important information, and encourage individuals to report any relevant activities anonymously.
Community engagement
Crimestoppers is keen to engage with the community, particularly local authorities and businesses in the Isle of Man, to help raise awareness of the Crimestoppers service. By partnering with local organisations, we aim to deepen connections and strengthen the collective effort to combat crime on the Island.
