A FireStoppers Report Update (to Aug 22)
- Between January and August 2021, our 7 FireStoppers partners received 70 pieces of information. This ranged from 0 reports for two of the newer Fire Service partners, to 42 for one of the more established Services.
Between January and August 2022, 138 pieces of information have been received by our 9 Fire Service partners, ranging from 3 for the 2 newest Fire Services to the initiative, and 60 for one of the most established partners.
This growth year-on-year represents a 97% uplift in the number of pieces of information people have reported via the FireStoppers service. This shows that as the initiative gains traction, and is promoted more and more in partner regions, there is scope for the amount of information you receive to grow.
In August 2022 alone, 63 pieces of information were passed on via the FireStoppers service; of these:
- 1 gave information following a FireStoppers appeal.
- 1 named those responsible for setting fires in a park.
- 1 gave the names of people responsible for setting multiple fires.
- 1 gave the names of people suspected of an arson attack - vehicle details and their address were also provided.
- 1 gave the description of a suspicious man following an arson attack.
- 1 gave the vehicle details of those involved in setting fire to fly-tipped waste.
- 14 gave information of fires that had been set - all stipulated the locations, 1 provided a person’s description, and 6 gave names.
- 11 gave information on BBQ use - a number of these were within the Peak District PSPO area.
- 9 gave information of where campfires were being lit/used.
- 7 gave the locations of where bonfires are being set - 2 provided names.
- 6 gave information on garden fires - all gave locations, 5 provided names.
- 6 gave the locations of potential fire risks.
- 3 gave the details of commercial waste being burned - all gave a location, and 2 companies were named.
- 1 gave information of the location of a large fire being built.
