One of UK’s Most Wanted captured after four years on run

One of the UK’s Most Wanted men Calvin Parris, was captured in Portugal and recently returned to Wales by the National Crime Agency (NCA) after four years on the run. 

Parris aged 34 from Cardiff originally, is accused of a conspiracy to supply cocaine. And being a member of an organised crime group involved in a plan to traffic class A controlled drugs using the encrypted communications platform EncroChat. 
 
He was detained near the town of Boliqueime in the Algarve and was escorted back to the UK on 15 October, where he was taken into custody by South Wales Police.
 
He was listed as Most Wanted in Spain at the launch of a campaign run by our charity with the NCA in January 2022 after going on the run in November 2020.
 

Parris was remanded in custody after appearing at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on 16 October until his next appearance at Cardiff Crown Court in November.
