International Most Wanted fugitive Alex Male arrested in Morocco back in UK

Alex Male

Alex Male, one of the UK’s Most Wanted fugitives, who was arrested in Morocco earlier in the year after being on the run for four years, was brought back to Britain this month.

His extradition was facilitated by the National Crime Agency (NCA) in conjunction with the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

He was named on the list of the NCA's and Crimestoppers' Most Wanted in Spain joint campaign launched in January 2022. He had been on the run following his arrest by the SWROCU in June 2020.

Male, aged 32 from Weston-super-Mare, was detained on 21 January in Morocco, after attempting to enter the country with a false passport.

He is accused of conspiracy to supply cocaine and ketamine across the south-west of England, conspiracy to acquire a firearm and money laundering.

Male was extradited back to England on Wednesday 7 August and appeared at Exeter Magistrates’ Court the following day, where he was remanded into custody. He will appear in court again on 5 September 2024.
