Fearless joined the JD Foundation for their immersive JD Up event in London
We joined the JD Foundation for JD UP London – an immersive careers event that encourages young people to dream big and supports them to reach their full potential.
As well gaining hands on experience through participating in activities across different JD departments, young people were invited to go a little deeper; to reflect on important topics such as their wellbeing, relationships and communities. The event opened their eyes to opportunities and routes into the world of work and provided space to talk openly about worries and concerns they might have - some of which have the potential to become barriers to achieving their success.
Alongside some of JD’s charity partners, including Kidscape and YoungMinds, we met hundreds of young people who shared their thoughts and hopes for a safer London. We let them know about Fearless.org and reassured them that if they have information about crime, they are not alone. We are here to help.
We believe all young people have the right to feel safe and through our digital platforms, and outreach sessions, we share information about crime with young people with the aim of helping them to make good choices and to encourage them to speak up against crime.
We asked young people what would encourage them to speak up (to anyone) about crime – here’s what they told us:
With c3000 young people having engaged with us or receiving Fearless info and merch over two days, it’s our hope that they will feel empowered to speak up about crime – whether that’s to a trusted adult or by using our anonymous reporting service.
