The only way is (JD) UP for Fearless

The only way is (JD) UP for Fearless

Following the success of the JD UP Event in London last year, we recently had the privilege of being invited back by the JD Foundation (the charitable arm of JD Sports) to take part in their JD UP event in Manchester.

This event gave our Fearless team an opportunity to engage with thousands of students in a fun and interactive environment. The JD UP event, organised by The JD Foundation, is a unique and immersive experience designed to inspire young people, provide insight into a wide range of careers and help them to reach their unlimited potential. Imagine a DJ on the decks, panel Q&As and dance-offs in the auditorium - and a full-size JD Sports store built especially for the occasion!

Young people help shape our future plans

The team spoke to young people about Fearless and anonymous reporting, invited them to get curious about how they would handle difficult situations and gained valuable knowledge about the types of crimes that concern them the most.

Young people had the opportunity to tell us all about where they live; what makes them feel safe and unsafe, as well as providing us with feedback on our posters and how we can improve them. One question we were asking young people was 'What does Fearless mean to you?' and below is an example of just some of the responses we received:

"To be brave and ready for anything"
"Being unafraid even if others don't vibe with it"
"Having confidence about what you do"
"To know your goals and be ready to chase them"
"Not being scared of sharing your true self"
"Doing something selfless for another person"

We want to thank the young people who attended the JD Up event and stop to chat with us, as their thoughts and ideas will help shape our future plans and campaigns, enabling us to better connect with our key audience of 11 to 17 year olds.

The whole team was grateful to have this opportunity and found that spending four days surrounded by brilliant young people, passionate JD Sports crew and other charities committed to breaking down barriers for the next generation was incredibly rewarding. A huge thank you to the JD Foundation.
