Fearless in Durham & Darlington

#BeFearless in County Durham & Darlington

We’re running a campaign in partnership with County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service to help young people keep themselves and their friends safe.

We're Fearless, part of the independent charity Crimestoppers. We believe that everyone has a right to feel safe. And we know you want that too.

We give you info that will help you separate the myths and facts surrounding crimes, and spot potential signs, so that you can make positive choices that help keep everyone safe.

Lately, there’s been an increase in fires being started in Durham and Darlington.

Deliberately setting fire to people’s property is called arson and the impact can be devastating. Victims can lose everything and end up homeless, be seriously injured or even killed.

That’s why we’re asking you to speak up if you know who’s starting them.

In an emergency, you should always report fires to the police and fire service by calling 999.

If there is no immediate risk (for example, following the event) you can tell us what you know 100% anonymously by filling out our online form or calling 0800 555 111.

 Is Fearless really anonymous?

Yes! Anonymous means your identity is completely unknown.

Nobody will ever know the information came from you.

When you give us information about crime, we can’t track your phone number, email address or IP address. And we never take any other contact details or personal information about you.

By speaking up about crime, you can make a real difference; making the area you live safer and helping the people involved. It's the kind thing to do.

You can tell us who’s starting fires, or report  any crime in your area, by filling in our online form or calling us on 0800 555 111.
