Fearless Outreach Sessions

Fearless Workshop T's & C's

Our outreach team deliver free workshops to schools and other youth settings. To ensure the safety of all participants, it is essential that everyone involved is clear on their roles and responsibilities. 

Below is a copy of the terms and conditions that must be read, understood, and agreed to prior to any session lead by a member of our team. If the terms & conditions are not agreed to, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. If, during a session, the terms & conditions are not followed, the Fearless team member facilitating the session has the right to stop the session early.  

FEARLESS YOUTH WORKER

The Fearless Youth Worker is responsible for facilitating an informative, engaging workshop.

Prior to the session, the workshop facilitator will:

  • Confirm room set up / equipment / IT requirements.
  • Let staff know about Fearless’ reporting service and highlighting that the workshop is not a space to disclose information. If disclosures are made within the session, the site’s safeguarding policy will be followed.

During the session, the workshop facilitator will:

  • Treat young people and staff with respect.
  • Create a safe, open environment that allows for discussion.
  • Follow the site’s safeguarding policy and report any concerns to the member of staff present.
  • Let young people know about Fearless’ reporting service and making it clear that the workshop is not a space to disclose information. If disclosures are made within the session, the site’s safeguarding policy will be followed.
STAFF e.g. teachers / youth workers

Staff are responsible for pastoral care and managing behaviour of the group at all times.

Prior to the session, staff will:

  • Provide the workshop facilitator with any relevant information that could impact the session, so that they can tailor content accordingly or be mindful during delivery. This includes but is not limited to: challenging behaviour, sensitive or triggering topics, pronouns, SEN.
  • Inform students of the nature of the workshop.
  • Send the workshop facilitator a copy of their sites safeguarding policy.
  • Ensure that an appropriate space is booked for the session and equipment / IT requested by the workshop facilitator is organised. Make colleagues in surrounding areas aware of the date / time of the session to help minimise interruption / disruption during the session.

During the session, staff will:

  • Remain in the room at all times, proactively manage behaviour and engage with the session.

During the session, staff will not:

  • Interrupt or undermine the delivery / content of the workshop.
  • ‘Shoot the messenger’ if their personal opinions do not align with information being shared e.g. what the law states.
  • Take photos of workshop facilitator or visitors without consent.
YOUNG PEOPLE

Young people will arrive at the session on time to allow for a prompt start and avoid disruption.

During the session, young people will:

  • Treat staff, workshop facilitator, visitors and peers with respect.
  • Follow instructions and actively listen to whoever is speaking.
  • Engage with the workshop which is designed fuel discussion.
  • Respect each other’s boundaries and personal space.
  • Use any equipment provided as instructed and return in the same condition at the end of the workshop.
  • Complete an evaluation at the end of the workshop.

During the session, young people will not:

  • Use their phones (unless with permission / instruction to do so from staff or workshop facilitator).
  • Take photos of staff, workshop facilitator, visitors or peers without consent.
  • Ask the workshop facilitator personal questions or make inappropriate comments.
