We sat down for a chat with Natalia to find out more about her experience and what she hopes to achieve in her new role.

Tell us a bit about your work background

I’ve always been a very creative person, which naturally led me to explore different ways I could design and build something meaningful. I started off freelancing as a content creator and social media manager for a rum punch company, and I also worked as a creative consultant for a staffing agency. During that time, I had the chance to meet some incredible people and gain really valuable experiences.

But deep down, I always felt a pull towards making a more meaningful impact on others. That’s what led me to pursue a career in psychology, with a focus on mental health. Since then, I’ve worked as an Adolescent Mental Health Worker supporting individuals experiencing an acute crisis in their mental health, providing community-based intervention to support stabilisation in their mental health and improve their wellbeing.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Don’t let the past dictate your future. Every day is a new opportunity to grow, learn, and be grateful.

What are you most looking forward to in your role with Fearless?

I’m really excited to create content and campaigns that genuinely make a difference and empower young people to speak up about crime. It’s something that hits close to home for me, having grown up around individuals that have been exposed to criminal activity and joined a particular lifestyle due to their environment.

We encourage young people to be fearless in speaking up about crime – what does ‘fearless’ mean to you?

Being fearless doesn’t mean you’re not scared, it means you understand the challenges ahead and choose to face them anyway, with courage and determination.

What would you say to a young person who has information about a crime but isn’t sure who to talk to?

I would say that you’re not alone. It’s completely normal to feel unsure, anxious, or even scared about speaking up, especially when there is stigma around "snitching". But speaking up isn’t about getting someone in trouble, it’s about protecting yourself, your friends, and your community. It takes strength to do the right thing, but your voice can make a real difference.

Who or what is inspiring you right now?

My family inspires me. Even through tough times and challenges, we’ve really come together, encouraging and supporting one another. That kind of unity, love, and strength really inspires me.
