Rural crime takes many forms, and often involves criminal gangs exploiting our local wildlife, environment and communities.

It leads to rural residents feeling unsafe in their own home after dark and, according to NFU Mutual's 2023 Crime Report, rural crime cost the UK an estimated £49.5m in 2022.

We know that rural communities are often aware of who is behind local criminal activity, but are reluctant to give information, fearing possible reprisals.
