Once again Dorset Crimestoppers have been in attendance at the ever popular County Shows where town and countryside meet to enjoy all local activities from farming, livestock, tractors and ploughing to wildlife and conservation.
Crimestoppers and Dorset Police are always promoting security and awareness to stop rural crime, catch the criminals and where possible prosecute the offenders.
The goodwill Dorset tractor in police livery kept children of all ages interested. All the familiar gazebo, tractor and display stands were at Melplash (near Bridport), Gillingham and North Dorset where the crowds flocked in (pun not intended) to look at the large number of stalls with local ales, food and cider.
Fighting rural crime in the community
Mark (pictured left) was on duty at Melplash and regularly works with the community to fight rural crime.
With crime in the countryside an ever present threat, the help and constant vigilance of the community is vital to stopping theft, anti-social crime, vandalism, fly-tipping, livestock theft, poaching and wildlife crime.
