Crimestoppers is an independent charity helping to fight crime in Suffolk by gathering information about crime and criminals – anonymously.
People who want to give information do so through an 0800 555 111 telephone number and online here on our website. They don’t give their name, address or any identification and calls can’t be traced. Even online, no identifcation is possible. It’s all 100% anonymous.
We’re looking for volunteers in Suffolk who’ll join hundreds across the country to promote Crimestoppers services. These include helping develop and run campaigns against a range of criminal activities such as drugs, gangs, domestic abuse, rural crime and child exploitation.
We’re looking for volunteers who want to help fight crime and help keep communities in Suffolk safer.
No formal qualifications are required to volunteer but you may have skills and experience in any of the below:
- Administration (secretarial)
- Social media and website experience
- Organising events
- Management (e.g. project management)
- Media/public relations
- Presentation skills (e.g. public speaking)
- Business network development
- Young people's issues
There are no set hours, just what time you can give - but you’ll need to be self-motivated and with the ability to work as part of a team and be keen to develop and share ideas.
Crimestoppers is independent of the police and local authorities but works with partners across the county including voluntary groups. We’re not Crimewatch.
