A Hemel Hempstead mum is set to run the London Marathon to help us keep communities safe from crime.
The 33-year-old office manager has currently hit 19-miles during her training, which involves three runs and one swim a week.
She said: “I have done two half marathons to help with my training and got a personal best time with both, which was amazing.I have been following a couple of running groups on Facebook for advice, which has been really helpful. I think the best tip is to listen to your body and push yourself if you can but take that extra rest day if you feel you need it."
Looking forward to race day
As the big day approaches, Lauren admits she’s nervous but she’s focusing on finishing on running well and finishing in a speedy four hours.
She said: “I will be so nervous on the day and I have asked lots of family and friends to come and support and make sure they are spread out around the 26.2 miles so I see people I know throughout the whole run. Just seeing everyone at each place cheering me on will give me the boost I need – especially my little boy. Running the marathon will be a huge achievement and I will definitely be proud of myself.”
