Reward of up to £5,000 for information on the murder of Vilson Meshi

Monday 4th April 2016

Today we are offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of Basildon man, Vilson Meshi.

CCTV has been released of an individual on a bicycle that police would like to speak to in connection with the murder of Meshi, whose body was found at just before 5pm on Saturday 27 February.

The body was discovered in a fire damaged grey Audi A4 parked in Pincey Mead, near Pitsea Road, Basildon.

A post-mortem examination gave the provisional cause of his death as smoke inhalation.

We are now offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the 30-year-old’s murder.

Antonia Litten, Eastern Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “The best friend of Vilson described him as ‘a cuddly bear’, so why would anyone want to harm someone who was no threat to anyone?

“I’d ask that if you have any information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online. I can assure you nobody will know you contacted us.”

If you have any information on who is responsible for the murder of Meshi or can identify the person in the CCTV, please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use our anonymous online form.
