Crimestoppers is delighted to be working in partnership with Clare Walker Consultancy (CWC) and Hathi Productions on the launch of The Black and Blue Monologues at Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival at 7pm on Wednesday 12th February at Phoenix Square, as part of their ‘No More’ domestic abuse campaign.
With a unique comedic look at a very serious issue, the focus this year is to raise awareness of the different types of domestic abuse that can exist. It highlights the fact that not all abuse is ‘male-on-female’ and that abuse can take many forms other than purely physical violence. This event also highlights the prevalence of domestic abuse amongst young people, particularly with regards to their intimate relationships.
Leicestershire and Rutland Crimestoppers are also grateful to the Leicestershire PCC's Innovation Fund which provided the funding to take this show on the road and help spread the message to the wider community. If you would like to see this where you live, then please call Clare Walker on 07910 371 045.
Crimestoppers’ East Midlands Regional Manager, Kiran Dhanda, said: “Crimestoppers is proud to support the ‘Black and Blue Monologues as part of our ‘No More’ campaign. Domestic abuse is a serious issue in all communities – we want No More turning a blind eye, No More colluding with perpetrators and No More blaming victims.”
