Mike Smith from Guernsey Crimestoppers said: “We received a huge amount of positive feedback from the runners that took part in last year’s Runway Run. With the support of the Airport, we have the opportunity to extend the number of entrants for 2016.

“The Runway Run is a unique sporting event for the community which helps to raise the profile of Crimestoppers and its role in keeping our islands safe. The event was extremely well-supported last year, so we hope more islanders will be up for the challenge and surreal experience this year.”

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male, female, veterans (45 and over) and under-18.

Will Bodkin was the overall winner last year, with a time of 16.36 minutes. The average time was 27mins.

A trophy will also be presented to the fastest Corporate team made up of three to six runners, with the fastest three times counting.

Tickets are £15 per person and are available from Eventbrite.com. All participants will receive a special commemorative shirt to wear on the night.
