Local runners will once again have the chance to run the runway, at the third Crimestoppers Runway Run.
The 5k (3.1 miles) night-time race, organised by Guernsey Crimestoppers, will take place at Guernsey Airport on Saturday 7 October and is open to runners of all abilities over the age of 14.
The number of places available is limited for security reasons. The event sold out in both 2015 ( 111 places) and in 2016 ( 333 places).
The event will offer runners the unique experience of running the length of the runway guided by the landing lights and a full moon.
Tickets are £15 per person and are available from Eventbrite.com. All participants will receive a special commemorative shirt to wear on the night.
Mike Smith from Guernsey Crimestoppers said: “We received a huge amount of positive feedback from the runners that took part in last year’s Runway Run.
“The Runway Run is a unique sporting event for the community which helps to raise the profile of Crimestoppers and its role in keeping our islands safe. The event was extremely well-supported last year, so we hope more islanders will be up for the challenge and surreal experience this year.”
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male, female, veterans (45 and over) and under-18.
A trophy will also be presented to the fastest Corporate team made up of three to six runners, with the fastest three times counting.
Tickets are £17 per person and are available from Eventbrite.com. All participants will receive a special commemorative shirt to wear on the night.
Crimestoppers would like to thank the Airport, CIAS, Aero Club, volunteers and the following for their support with this year's Runway Run:
