Ladbrokes is one of the main sponsors and official partners to the Crimestoppers Charity.
Our customers and staff colleagues generally all work and live in the communities in which we trade, and the display of the Crimestoppers literature and telephone number in our premises supports crime reduction and good citizenship.
The name Ladbrokes is synonymous with betting and gaming. The company origins date back to 1886, and it is one of the world's leading betting and gaming companies. Ladbrokes is a market leader in retail bookmaking in the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Spain, where it operates a combined total of more than 2,700 betting shops and employs over 16,000 staff.
We work in partnership with Crimestoppers, Suzy Lamplugh Trust, police, local communities, and the Association of Business Crime Partnerships to help improve community safety and reduce crime.
We are founder members of the Safe Bet Alliance, which is a voluntary code of Safety and Security for UK Bookmakers. The members include the Association of British Bookmakers (also a Crimestoppers partner), representatives of police services, local authorities, and other community bodies. The alliance aims to reduce the risk of robbery and other forms of violence or antisocial behaviour in betting offices. Ladbrokes can confidently state that they positively exceed the expected levels on all of these standards. This initiative, under the Metropolitan Police, won recognition in the aquisitive crime section of The Tilley awards, a Home Office-sponsored crime prevention scheme which recognises an ‘innovative crime fighting project’ where police, community groups and the public successfully work together to identify and tackle local crime problems.
Liaison with community police officers is part of the process of addressing local disorder problems, via exchanging information as well as providing reassurance to shop staff through visits to our premises on a regular basis.
Ladbrokes are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for all our employees, customers and visitors to our premises.
