Crimestoppers welcomes first Lincolnshire Community Ambassador
The volunteer committee for Crimestoppers in Lincolnshire has recruited Lincolnshire Co-operative as their very first Community Ambassador.
We offer a unique service, encouraging people who have information about crime, but do not want to speak to the police, to speak up anonymously. Our UK Contact Centre has specially trained call handlers who ensure that information is passed on to law enforcement agencies, without ever revealing the identity of the person reporting.
“We’re delighted to announce Lincolnshire Co-op as our first Community Ambassador for Lincolnshire. The range of services the business provides means they’re ideally placed to promote the work of our charity. They share our values and belief that everyone should feel safe from crime. They are a trusted organisation who engage with members of the public on a regular basis, with a great team on the ground. I’m excited to work with them and to support their promotion of our charity with local communities.
“I’m pleased Crimestoppers’ local volunteer committee in Lincolnshire has gone from strength to strength since the appointment of Mike Johnson as Chair. With a variety of passionate volunteers, and now our first Community Ambassador, Crimestoppers is now even better placed to raise awareness of our charity to the communities that need us the most.”
“Lincolnshire Co-op do lots of great work within the community and with their own colleagues, so having them working alongside us in Lincolnshire is a perfect match. It was an honour for me to present their Community Ambassador’s Certificate to Chief Executive Ursula Lidbetter recently at our Rural Crime Conference.”
“Crimestoppers is such a valued service in our communities and we have been working with the charity for many years.
“Through our role as a Community Ambassador, we’re proud to spread the word and highlight what Crimestoppers does and how it can help protect our local area from crime.”
Anyone with information about crime who wishes to stay anonymous should call the Crimestoppers UK Contact Centre which is open 24/7 on freephone 0800 555 111 or fill in our simple and secure anonymous online form
