Mark joined the Charity as Chief Executive in September 2013.
In this role he is responsible for the development and direction of the Charity, according to the strategy set out by the Trustees. To do this he leads our strategic and business planning ensuring that every member of the organisation understands their role and tasks. All of this is done in consultation with our Trustees and our volunteers to ensure we meet our objectives.
Key activities have been developing partnerships with Police and Crime Commissioners, Chief Constables, Home Office Ministers and Senior Civil Servants, as well as wider partners in the Third Sector, and the commercial arena. In financially austere times, safeguarding future funding has been a vital task, as well as a root and branch review of operations that has led him to developing and implementing a new 5-year Strategy.
Mark previously spent 30 years in the British Army serving worldwide in a wide variety of intelligence and security appointments, including tours in Afghanistan, Belize, Germany, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone and the USA, ending his service as Director Intelligence Corps, the Army’s professional intelligence and security head.
